The nearest community, and the location of the Visitors Centre is Haines Junction, 32km south.<\/p>\n<p>The Park covers an area of nearly 22,000 square kilometers of high mountains, icefields, glasciers, crystal clear lakes and spectacular wildlife (ground squirrels, caribou, moose, grizzly and black bears, Dall sheep and mountain goats), and includes Mount Logan (5959 m\/19,545 ft) Canada&#8217;s highest peak.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1751\" style=\"width: 580px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1751\" class=\"wp-image-1751 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/steveschwarz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/SCH_9999.jpg\" alt=\"SCH_9999\" width=\"570\" height=\"379\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.steveschwarz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/SCH_9999.jpg 570w, https:\/\/www.steveschwarz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/SCH_9999-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.steveschwarz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/SCH_9999-226x150.jpg 226w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 570px) 100vw, 570px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1751\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The long road to Klaune.
